Catalina was married with Luis Est猫vez Romero and they attended to a party 馃帀 where she
met Juan Pedro, a strong passion 馃挆 arose among them which caused gossip in the high
society to which they belonged.
Due this incident the couple left Cuba to find shelter in Paris 馃椉 where they got married 馃拸 under French laws, after that they went to the Vatican and met with the Pope Benedict XV to be given the Divine blessing for their relationship. In 1918 was signed the Divorce law in Cuba and was officially registered the separation of Catalina Lasa and her first husband.

He planted in the gardens roses 馃尮 of unique beauty called Catalina Lasa, a grafting rose obtained by the famous floriculturists of the time. According to the story, in 1926 this wonderful mansion was occupied by Catalina Lasa, who died 4 years later.
Nowadays this architectural jewel is La Casa de la Amistad where you can enjoy a pleasant restaurant and also there is in the gardens a nightclub during the weekends.
Those of us who know the history of
Catalina and Juan Pedro, transferred our imagination to when love 馃挅 took hold of
this couple 馃拺 in a brief but passionate existence.

En aquel momento, nos referimos a los comienzos del siglo
XX, no estaba aprobada la Ley de divorcio en Cuba y Catalina tuvo la audacia de pedir a su
esposo la separaci贸n pero este no acept贸
y debido a los prejuicios de la 茅poca
acudi贸 a la justicia que dict贸
sentencia de captura por bigamia contra Catalina.
Ella y Bar貌 馃懌 pudieron huir en secreto y se establecieron en Par矛s donde se casaron 馃拸 a partir de la anulaci贸n del matrimonio por el papa Benedicto XV. En
1918 fue aprobada la ley de divorcio en Cuba cuando se registr贸 oficialmente la
separaci贸n de Catalina Lasa y su primer esposo. Ellos regresan a Cuba y unos
a帽os despu茅s, Bar贸 comienza de forma
an贸nima la construcci贸n del
palacete 馃彙 para su amada en la calle Paseo
con estilo del Renacimiento italiano para los exteriores y Art D茅co para la decoraci贸n
interior.

la actualidad en esta joya arquitect贸nica se encuentra La Casa de la Amistad
donde se disfruta de un agradable restaurant y adem谩s los fines de semana en
los jardines funciona un centro nocturno.
